Bob Ellis

Bob Ellis is a senior restructuring advisor and board director with over 30 years’ experience leading complex financial and operational transformations across Europe, the United States and Asia. He works with private equity sponsors, lenders and boards to stabilise underperforming businesses, restructure balance sheets and deliver value creation in high-pressure situations.

Bob has extensive experience in debt restructuring, stakeholder negotiations and operational turnaround, including debt-for-equity conversions, refinancings, liquidity management and exit execution. He is particularly effective in situations involving covenant stress, over-leverage, governance challenges or strategic repositioning, bringing a pragmatic, commercially focused approach to resolving complex issues.

He currently serves as Chair of Reconomy, supporting a private equity-backed international buy-and-build strategy, and was Non-Executive Chair of Stelrad Group plc, where he led the business through restructuring, strategic repositioning and a successful IPO. He also holds board roles at Outright Games and Whittan Group, advising on governance, performance improvement and growth strategy.

Bob has played a leading role in numerous large-scale and international restructuring situations, including Parexel, KCA Deutag, Stemcor and Ideal Stelrad. His work has included aligning diverse stakeholder groups, managing creditor negotiations, implementing cost and cash programmes, and delivering successful outcomes through trade sales, secondary buyouts and public listings.

Earlier in his career, Bob held CEO, CFO and Chief Restructuring Advisor roles across a range of sectors including industrials, business services, healthcare, telecoms and retail. This combination of senior executive leadership and financial expertise enables him to operate effectively at both board and operational levels.

He has chaired audit, risk and remuneration committees across multiple businesses and is recognised for his strong governance capability and disciplined approach to financial control and performance management.

He is a trusted advisor to boards, investors and lenders on complex, high-value restructuring and transformation situations.
