John Lowry

In a 30-year corporate career John worked for premier companies including General Electric Company, ICI, Ford Motor Company, IBM, Unilever, Thorn EMI, and Accenture. He started as a ‘super tech’, winning 2 Queens Awards to Industry for technical design and innovation and progressed through systems planning, product planning, marketing and sales to general management and board directorship.

John attended Ford and Unilever management schools and the IBM President’s Course at Harvard.

As an independent transformation leader, John has 30 years’ experience in the financial restructuring, operational transformation, value regeneration, acquisition and merger of public and private enterprises, from early-stage companies to those with turnovers up to £1 billion, in Europe and the USA, acting as Chief Executive, Executive Chairman or Chief Restructuring Officer.

Because of John’s experience in technology and technology enabled businesses, he engages with companies of all sizes and stages of development, from early-stage to maturity.

Significant engagements have included:
• CEO of OGM Entertainment; £100m revenue, video games developer and publisher
• Adviser (CEO elect) to a £1bn revenue public company
• Director of Digital Policing for the Metropolitan Police Service
• Executive Chairman of EVO Group; £600m revenue, the UK’s largest wholesaler and distributor of business supplies
• Programme Director at PwC; creation of a new entity within PwC Technology and Investments
• CEO of AEA Technology Group; £200m revenue, the privatised arm of the Atomic Energy Authority with businesses in the UK and USA
• Strategic Adviser to PwC; review of a £40m programme to transition from time-based fee earnings to technology enabled IP, business solution, outcome, and transaction-based earnings
• Executive Chairman of Norbain; £200m revenue, the UK’s largest manufacturer and distributor of CCTV and other security products
• Chief Restructuring Officer of Payzone; €1bn revenue public company; international cash point operator and electronic payments processor
